Local Organization Receives Texas Historical Foundation Grant Award

At its most recent meeting, the Texas Historical Foundation, a 57-year old preservation organization, awarded a grant to the Caprock Cultural Association in Post.

The Caprock Cultural Association was awarded THF funding for a traveling photography exhibit highlighting 10 buildings in Texas designed by nationally-renowned, early 20th-century architect Louis Curtiss. Two of the featured buildings originally served as depots for the Santa Fe Railroad and are located in Post and Snyder. While the depot in Post has been restored and houses the local Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center, the structure in Snyder was placed on the 2011 Preservation Texas’ Most Endangered List.
